The Magic of Soul Gazing

The Magic of Soul Gazing!

26. November 2023

We (Katrine and Claus) just returned from yet another amazing Life Style Cruise.

During the last 8 years we have been on several Lifestyle Cruises - in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska and Scandinavia. We love it!

The Cruises are a lot about having a great time - it is an adventure filled with fun, laughter, dancing, and meeting incredible people, both old and new friends.

It is joy and celebration of life. And we simply love the socializing with so many amazing people.

While the cruise are undoubtedly filled with fun and celebration, we want to highlight
that it also offers more than just a good time; there are also opportunities to strengthen the bonds between partners.

On the Cruises we host workshops, as we always do. Here, we offer the opportunity to step into a moment of deeper, more profound connection amid the vibrant cruise atmosphere.

One of the workshops we host is "Connecting with Your Partner". The first exercise in this workshop is an intimate practice of "Soul Gazing" or "Eye Gazing." It's not just a powerful exercise; it's a journey into the depths of connection and presence with your partner.

We would like to share this exercise with you, as it is something that can be very useful to strengthen the Intimacy in relationships.

Why choose the eyes as the gateway to intimacy?

Eyes are often referred to as the windows to the soul. Eye gazing is a practice that invites you to be present with your partner beyond the distractions of everyday life.
It's an opportunity to create intimacy, communicate emotions and build trust.

When you look into your partner's eyes for an extended period, you see their soul
– a vulnerable, beautiful, and healing experience.

This exercise also stimulates the release of oxytocin, the bonding hormone linked to increased empathy and love. It's a potent tool for maintaining intimacy, and its effects can be profound.

How to Practice Eye / Soul Gazing:

Prepare the Space:
Find a comfortable position facing your partner, either on a mattress or a chair.
Ensure that you can be undisturbed for the duration of the exercise
– and put your phone on flight mode.

Start the Gaze:
Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths together to center and ground yourselves.
Open your eyes and look into your partner's left eye. Ensure clarity by briefly pointing
to your own left eye.

The 7-Minute Connection:
Maintain soft eye contact for 7 minutes.
Breathe naturally and allow yourself to blink; it's about connection, not a stare.
No talking, smiling, or laughing – just be present.
If your thoughts begin to wander, gently guide your focus back to the shared gaze.

Embrace Vulnerability:
If vulnerability arises, that's perfectly fine.
Stay with the eye contact and the emotions that surface.

End the Session:
Set a gentle alarm for 7 minutes.
After the time elapses, break the eye contact and express gratitude to your partner
through a hug, a kiss, or another meaningful gesture.

Our Cruise Highlight - a Testimonial:

At the end of one of the cruises, a couple approached us during dinner.
They had participated in our 'Connecting with Your Partner' workshop and afterwards began each morning with the 7-minute Soul Gazing exercise.

The impact?
They felt immensely connected, loved, and safe throughout the cruise, making a significant difference in their relationship.

With heartfelt sincerity, they shared how starting each morning with the 7-minute Soul Gazing exercise became a cherished ritual.

Through the quiet gaze into each other's eyes, they felt a depth of connection
that transcended words. Their cruise became a transformative experience as they navigated their emotional fluctuations.

Your Invitation:

Give it a try and share your experiences with us! 😊

Consider this more than just a practice; it's an opportunity, intentionally created, to deepen your connection, creating a space for vulnerability, authenticity, and shared emotions.

Take a moment each day, sit with your partner, and let your souls connect through the power of gaze.

It may feel awkward initially, but trust us, the rewards are worth it.

After trying this soul-gazing exercise, we'd love to hear your stories and insights.
